In his return to the huge display, Oscar-winning director Barry Jenkins takes on a movie adaptation of If Beale Street Could Discuss, a critically acclaimed James Baldwin novel printed in 1974.
The film stars Kiki Layne and Stephan James as Clementine “Tish” Rivers and Alonzo “Fonny” Hunt, a pair torn aside when Fonny is falsely accused of rape. Whereas he’s in jail Tish discovers she is pregnant and with the assist of a lawyer and her household tries to search out proof to exonerate Fonny.
The supporting forged contains Atlanta’s Brian Tyree Henry, Mad Males’s Teyonah Parris and 7 Second‘s Regina King.
Jenkins may also be reuniting with a number of of the Oscar-nominated skills, who labored on Moonlight together with cinematographer James Laxton, composer Nicholas Britell and editors Joi McMillon and Nat Sanders.
