Deji Adeyanju, Convener of Involved Nigerians, has been arrested by the officers of Nigeria Police Drive while leading a protest tagged ‘Police Are Not Politicians, Save Our Democracy’ in Abuja.
The protest was to demand the neutrality of the Police in the forthcoming basic election. Adeyanju was picked up alongside two others at about 10:55am right this moment by armed policemen stationed in entrance of the Drive Headqaurters in Abuja.
He was with among the protesters on the premises of the constructing and while they have been arranging the banners and placards in preparation for the rally, the Police arrested him. On Wednesday, the Police barricaded the roads leading to the Drive Headqaurters to stop the activists from finishing up the protest.
Final Friday, the group held the same protest on the Embassy of america of America, the place they expressed considerations over the credibility of the 2019 basic election. The group accused the safety businesses of conniving with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to control the election.
