The Nigerian Air Force says it has began the airlift of election supplies for the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee, (INEC).
A press release signed by the Director of Public Relations and Data of the NAF, Air commodore Ibikunle Daramola stated the airlift can be carried out day and evening to ship delicate and non-sensitive supplies to designated locations.
Air Commodore Daramola stated: “The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on Monday 11 February 2019, commenced the airlift of electoral supplies for the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) throughout the nation for the conduct of the 2019 Common Elections.
“The airlift train consists of day and evening missions, throughout which each delicate and non-sensitive electoral supplies had been conveyed in batches, with NAF C-130 Hercules plane from the Nnamdi Azikwe Worldwide Airport, Abuja to varied airports throughout the nation.
“The supplies had been duly delivered by the C-130H plane crew to groups of INEC and Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) officers along with safety personnel ready on the numerous airports.
“It might be recalled that the Chief of the Air Workers (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, throughout his assembly with Air Officers Commanding (AOCs) and NAF Subject Commanders on 1 February 2019, had expressed the readiness of the NAF to avail INEC its transport plane to allow expeditious motion of electoral supplies, as performed up to now.
