Katy Perry’s shoes pulled after ‘blackface’ backlash

Pricey vogue folks: Please cease making an attempt to make “blackface” occur.

First it was Prada. Then Gucci. Now, pop star Katy Perry (who, sure, is outwardly a clothier) is in scorching water for promoting shoes that evoke — deliberately or not — the racist imagery.

The kinds in query —  a pair of mules and a few high-heeled sandals  —function eyes and massive crimson lips, resembling minstrel make-up.

TMZ experiences that retailers Dillards and Walmart will pull the offending kinds, although not the entire line, from its shops after dealing with social media backlash.

The incident comes simply days after luxe label Gucci pulled a turtleneck that includes a mouth cowl with huge crimson lips from its web site. In December, Prada incited anger with a variety of equipment that includes black characters with outsized lips.
