Fraudulent Practitioner Sentenced to Five Years in Jail for Fatal Failed Penile Enlargement Surgery
A phony cosmetic surgeon has been imprisoned for five years following a deadly penis enlargement operation that resulted in the patient’s demise after months of suffering.
Torben K., a 46-year-old catering worker from Solingen, Germany, was sentenced by judges at Wuppertal District Court on August 28 for causing death by severe bodily harm. The victim, a 32-year-old whose identity was withheld in court, succumbed to sepsis seven months after the excruciating procedure in July 2019.
During the so-called ‘girth enhancing’ procedure, the imposter medic injected silicone oil into the patient’s penis and scrotum. Operating without any valid medical qualifications, Torben K. promoted his penis enlargement services online and conducted the treatments in his Solingen residence.
The victim’s sister, aged 29, testified that her brother had reservations about the procedure, but Torben K. persuaded him to proceed. Tragically, instead of a larger genitalia, the patient encountered respiratory difficulties immediately after returning home from the procedure. Despite visiting numerous hospitals, he eventually passed away in February 2020 due to blood poisoning, liver failure, and kidney failure after enduring months of torment in a specialized intensive care unit.
Investigations also unveiled that Torben K. had administered the same life-threatening injections to another man in March of the same year. Yet, Torben K. refused to disclose the specific type of silicone oil employed in the treatments when questioned.
High State Prosecutor Wolf-Tilman Baumert explained to local media that the injected silicone oil had entered the patient’s bloodstream, leading to grave health complications and, ultimately, his death. In court, Torben K. contended that he merely carried out the patient’s requests. Nonetheless, Baumert emphasized, “The fact that the man asked for the treatment is irrelevant from our point of view. The defendant acted in a highly immoral manner.”
