A personal trainer in India experienced a penile injury while attempting to enhance the size of his genitals using weights.
This 24-year-old man found his penis stuck in a roughly 3kg metal plate, and his case has been documented in the medical journal Urology Case Reports.
Believing that he could develop his penile muscles similar to other muscles, he devised a risky plan. When his penis was flaccid, he inserted it into the hole of the weight plate and then became erect. He tried to lift the weight using his erect penis.
According to urologists, he initially ignored the mild discomfort and swelling, continuing the exercise in his excitement. However, the situation soon became extremely painful.
The medical professionals noted: “After some time, when the intensity of pain and swelling increased in the penis, he tried to remove the weight plate but couldn’t do so… He panicked and decided to visit the doctor.”
The personal trainer finally sought medical attention two hours after initially placing his penis in the hole, and he was accompanied by relatives. His condition was described as “incarcerated.”
Medical efforts, including pain-relief gel, medications, and surgery, were employed to reduce the swelling before doctors were able to remove the plate.
Penile incarceration, also known as penile strangulation, occurs when the blood supply to the penis is obstructed by an object or body part.
