Controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has made a startling claim that Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage was the target of a kidnapping attempt on Thursday, April 13.

Olunloyo alleged that a newly hired domestic worker at Tiwa Savage’s residence had conspired with other criminals to carry out the kidnapping, and they had been following the singer for some time.
According to Olunloyo, the plot was foiled by the timely intervention of the police, who arrested the suspects and handed them over to the Criminal Investigation Department at Alagbon Police Station in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Tiwa Savage, who is known for hits like “All Over” and “Ma Lo,” has not yet commented on the alleged kidnapping attempt. However, fans of the singer have expressed shock and concern over the news.
Kemi wrote on her Instagram page,
“Earlier today Thursday April 13th 2023, an attempt was made to KIDNAP Tiwa Savage in Lagos. A new domestic staff specifically a driver was passing information to his co-conspirators who have been trailing her as she left home for days. The guys have all been arrested with the help of vigilante style private security and they were handed to police at CID Alagbon in Ikoyi. Celebrities be very careful and wary of your domestic staff at all times. Nigeria is very very dangerous these days. Don’t post your children online or your home etc. Just post your WORK. Tiwa is OK and in seclusion. I haven’t spoken with her and police will brief the media soon.”

Kidnapping has been a persistent problem in Nigeria, with high-profile individuals often targeted for ransom. The involvement of a domestic worker in this alleged plot has raised questions about security measures and background checks for household staff.
As of now, there has been no official statement from Tiwa Savage or her management regarding the alleged kidnapping attempt.
However, fans and well-wishers are hoping for her safety and security, and are eagerly awaiting further updates on the situation.
