Arsenal’s winger, Bukayo Saka, has secured the England men’s national team Player of the Year award for the second consecutive year, an achievement he attained at the age of just 21.
The British-Nigerian footballer, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Tuesday, September 5, emerged as the top choice in the fan vote, allowing him to retain the award he previously won in the 2021-22 season.
In the voting results, midfielder Jude Bellingham secured the second position, while England’s captain and all-time leading goal scorer, Harry Kane, claimed third place.
Over the past year, Saka has made a significant impact by scoring seven goals for England in just 10 appearances, including a memorable first career hat-trick during a 7-0 victory over North Macedonia at Old Trafford.

During the 2022 Qatar World Cup, he contributed three goals for the Three Lions, with two of them coming in the 6-2 opening group-stage triumph against Iran and one in the 3-0 victory in the last-16 match against Senegal.
Saka, who was also honored as the PFA Young Player of the Year for his outstanding performance at his club last season, has now accumulated a total of 11 goals for England in 28 appearances.

Furthermore, Saka has been included in England boss Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifier against Ukraine in Wroclaw and a friendly match with Scotland in Glasgow, scheduled for Tuesday.
