Engr Ibrahim Idriss Garba, the esteemed Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RRR) in Borno State, has tragically passed away, only a month after surviving a car accident.
According to reports, Engr Ibrahim Idriss Garba passed away on the evening of Friday, October 20th.
Malam Isa Gusau, the spokesperson for Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, has confirmed the incident, revealing that the police have already initiated an investigation.
In a statement, Gusau stated, “Governor Babagana Umara Zulum received the news with great shock and deep sorrow. The Governor expresses his condolences to late Commissioner Idriss Garba’s family, loved ones, friends, associates, and members of the state executive council.”
He further conveyed, “Late Engr Ibrahim Idriss Garba had previously served as the Governor’s Special Adviser on Special Projects. He was later promoted and appointed as the Commissioner of RRR at the beginning of Governor Zulum’s second term.”
In conclusion, Gusau said, “May Allah forgive the commissioner for any shortcomings he may have had and grant him a place in Aljanna, the highest paradise.”
It is worth noting that just a month ago, the late Commissioner miraculously survived an accident while traveling in Governor Zulum’s convoy during a week-long tour in southern Borno.
