Raymond Dokpesi, a leader in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the creator of DAAR Communications Ltd, has passed away.
At age 71, the media tycoon passed away in an Abuja hospital.

Dokpesi, a supporter of former vice president Atiku Abubakar, died, a family member confirmed to The Whistler.
Dokpesi, according to the unidentified family source, has been taking care of his health ever since suffering a stroke just after the most recent Ramadan fast.
According to the family source, Dokpesi was eventually started on occupational therapy to enhance his everyday activities through gym workouts.
The source said during one of his routine gym exercises, Dokpesi was electrocuted while using one of the gym equipment, leading to a stroke and his eventual death.
His family is expected to release a statement announcing his demise soon.
Recall that Raymond Dokpesi and his family members were in 2020 hospitalized at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital after they were diagnosed with COVID-19. They, however, survived the disease.
Dokpesi founded the African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM and was the Deputy Director-General of technical and systems of Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign Council.
