After a six-week trial at the Old Bailey, the couple, along with their daughter, Sonia, and a medical doctor, Dr. Obinna Obeta, were found guilty of facilitating the travel of a young man to Britain with the intent of exploiting him.

The Ekweremadus’ daughter Sonia, 25, who was to receive a k!dney from the traffickn vict!m wept as she was cleared of the same charge this morning.

The victim, a 21-year-old street trader from Lagos, was brought to the UK last year to provide to Sonia in an £80,000 private transplant at the Royal Free Hospital in London.

Dr Obinna Obeta, 50, the medical “middleman”, was found guilty.
