Sokoto state has been struck by the unfortunate news of the passing of Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, a House of Representatives member representing the Isa-Sabon Birni federal constituency in the lower chamber. As a first-time member of the House, Danbuga was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to a report by DailyTrust, the lawmaker succumbed to a brief illness at approximately 12:30 am on Wednesday, October 11. He fell ill on Tuesday and was subsequently admitted to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
In accordance with Islamic customs, the remains of the late lawmaker have been transported to Sokoto for burial rites.
Hon. Akin Rotimi, the spokesperson of the House, verified the incident and announced the sad news to fellow lawmakers earlier today. A formal statement on this tragic occurrence will be released shortly.
