The extraordinary honesty and integrity of Ngozi Kekwaru, a member of staff of the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, have been recognized.
The woman who gained notoriety for finding a customer’s lost $70,000 has been given the title of chieftain.
Samuel Nwanosike, the chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government council, also gave her a N2 million check.
Miss Ngozi Mary Kekwaru, a member of the customer service team at the Eko Hotels in Lagos, was recently recognized in Rivers State for recovering $70,000 that a visitor had misplaced.
She received appreciation for her great honesty by being named the Emohua Local Government Area’s ambassador.

At a ceremony held at the council secretariat in Emohua Town, Chidi Lloyd, the chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area, officially presented Kekwaru with the title of Brand Ambassador.
Her importance was further highlighted when she was granted the honor of leading the groundbreaking ceremony for a one-kilometer road construction project in the Ibaa Village.

The event saw community leaders, key stakeholders, and members of the public in attendance, celebrating Kekwaru’s exemplary act.
A notable pavilion was named for her, and she also obtained a chieftaincy title.
Kekwaru expressed her appreciation for the awards, thanking the Emohua and Ikwerre Local Governments, the Council of Chiefs, the residents of Rivers State, and the people of Nigeria.
She urged the youths to follow her lead and refrain from illicit activity that would damage the reputation of the Emohua Council region.
Kekwaru stressed that she returned the money out of respect for her Christian values and because she strongly believes in not stealing what is not hers.
After the tragedy, she unexpectedly received sympathy and assistance from people both inside and outside the nation.

Also, she received a N2 million check from Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Council, at the council’s Isiokpo headquarters.
Kekwaru pledged to represent the Ikwerre ethnic nationality honorably wherever she goes.
Kekwaru made time to meet with her teacher and other important figures from her formative years when she was in Rivers State.
She honored her late father and everyone who helped raise her with strong moral values by dedicating her accolades and achievements to them.
