:The Federal Government has made an official announcement regarding the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos for necessary repairs.
The statement was released by Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, on Thursday.
According to Kesha, the closure will commence from midnight on Saturday, October 21st, and will last until midnight on Sunday, October 22nd, in order to carry out essential repairs.
Kesha emphasized the government’s commitment to undertaking comprehensive rehabilitation work on the bridge, with a focus on repairing critical sections first.
To mitigate the current inconveniences experienced on the bridge, the Ministry will conduct palliative works on the most severely deteriorated sections along the Adeniji-bound carriageway on Sunday, October 22nd, as a preliminary measure before the comprehensive repair works.
Kesha urged motorists to cooperate with traffic management officials by adhering to all diversions and instructions to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
Additionally, she advised motorists to consider utilizing alternative routes whenever possible during the repair period.
