President Bola Tinubu has announced the Federal Government of Nigeria’s commitment to partnering with global tech giant Google Incorporated to establish one million digital jobs in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications & Strategy, Dele Alake, President Tinubu made this declaration during Google Global Vice President Richard Gingras’ visit to the State House on Friday.
President Tinubu conveyed his confidence in the abundance of creative and talented young individuals in Nigeria who are eager to learn and thrive in the digital age. He emphasized that Google, with its advanced capabilities and tools, could play a pivotal role in fostering their success.
Discussing Google’s role in promoting free speech, freedom of the press, and democracy through its platforms, Tinubu asserted the importance of safeguarding these values in the public interest.

President Tinubu received assurance from Gingras that Google has a keen interest in Nigeria and is prepared to assist the federal government in a number of areas, including artificial intelligence and other digital advances that enable young people to start successful digital businesses.
