Former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero, has formally announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter addressed to the Ward Chairman, PDP Kaura, Zaria Local Government Area of the state, Yero conveyed his decision, as of September 30.
The letter stated, “With gratitude to Almighty Allah, I write to extend my sincere greetings and to formally inform you of my decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
Furthermore, Yero added, “In view of this, I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party with effect from 30th September, 2023. Enclosed herewith, is my party membership card duly returned.”
Prior to this development, Yero held the position of deputy governor to late Governor Patrick Yakowa, who tragically passed away in an air crash. Following Yakowa’s demise, Yero assumed the role of the Governor of Kaduna State from December 15, 2012, to May 29, 2015.
