Former NFL player Matt Ulrich, who achieved Super Bowl glory with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006, sadly passed away at the age of 41. Colts owner Jim Irsay shared the heartbreaking news on November 8, highlighting Ulrich’s impact on the team despite his relatively short tenure. Ulrich’s athletic prowess was evident early on, having excelled in football and shot put during his time at Streamwood High School in Illinois, where he received high honors.
Following an undrafted NFL journey, Ulrich joined the Colts in 2005 and played a pivotal role in their Super Bowl XLI victory alongside legendary quarterback Peyton Manning. In retirement, Ulrich ventured into the fitness and business sectors, leaving a lasting legacy.
In the wake of his sudden passing, a fundraiser was launched to support Ulrich’s grieving family, garnering nearly $30,000 in donations within the past 18 hours.
