Fulham’s manager, Marco Silva, has confirmed that Alex Iwobi will be included in the team for their upcoming English Premier League match against Luton Town at Craven Cottage this Saturday.
Iwobi recently resumed training after recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained during his previous club, Everton’s 4-0 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park last month. He was substituted in the second half of that game, and Everton manager Sean Dyche acknowledged that Iwobi would likely be sidelined for a period, depending on the severity of the injury.
Dyche later confirmed in a pre-match press conference that the Super Eagles winger would be unavailable for competitive football for a few weeks due to the injury. As a result, Iwobi missed Everton’s 1-0 Premier League loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park before joining Fulham on the summer transfer deadline day.
During the international break, Iwobi intensified his recovery efforts, which enabled him to return to training. Now, there is a possibility that he will make his competitive debut for Fulham in their Premier League match against newly-promoted Luton. Silva stated, “Alex Iwobi will be included in the squad.”
