Actress Toyin Abraham’s latest movie Ijakumo has taken Netflix by storm, and the actress couldn’t be happier.
Ijakumo was developed six months ago, and it has already shot to the top of the local Language drama charts in West Africa, according to the speaker.
The blockbuster film has broken records on the well-liked streaming site after months of arduous preparation and anticipation.

Ijakumo, directed by Toyin Abraham, has been the only Nigerian movie to hold the top spot for more than two weeks.
Toyin is pleased that her movie has remained in first place for the past two weeks in a row on the Netflix streaming service.
And, amidst all the excitement, Toyin is taking a moment to express her gratitude to God and to everyone.

She acknowledged God’s presence and how he rewards one’s hard work.
Taking to her Instagram page, she wrote:
“Trust me.. whatever you want, manifest it! Speak it into existence and do the work! God listens and he rewards!
6 months ago, Ijakumo: The Born Again stripper was the Number 1 Indigenous Language drama at the West African Box Office.
Today, it is the Number 1 movie in Nigeria on Netflix, for 2 weeks in a row – only Nigerian film to be Number one for two weeks (and counting!) in 2023. For a non-branded, licensed film, this is huge!
Oya! Netflix global, Netflix Naija, Mr Ben , Mr Moses , Mr kene , Filmone oya run me another bigggg cheque.
Oluwa O Se ooo!! Thank you, everyone”
Recall that “Ijakumo” had its theatrical debut in December 2022 but was just made available on Netflix on Friday, June 23.
But, since the film’s premiere, it has received negative reviews, and Toyin, who has remained silent, now speaks up.
Toyin Abraham responded to the unfavourable feedback by claiming that many of the movie’s detractors rejected her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2022.
The actress questioned why her decision is currently interfering with her hard work. She stated that a number of people started a WhatsApp group just to disparage her film. Tweeted by her.
