The dates for the issue of Certificates of Return to governors, deputy governors, and state House of Assembly members-elect have been set by INEC for Wednesday, March 29 to Friday, March 31.
Festus Okoye, the committee’s chairman for information and voter education, made the announcement in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja.
Dates for issuing Certificates of Return to Governors-elect have been confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
Following a meeting on March 25, 2023, one week after the nationwide gubernatorial elections, the commission made its verdict.
The constitution requires INEC to provide the Certificate of Return within 14 days.
The presentation will take held at the electoral body’s offices in each state on March 29, Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31.
The Resident Electoral Commissioners and Administrative Secretaries of the various states will inform those elected of the exact dates for the issuance of the certificates.
Up to this point, 26 Governors-elect have been named.
