The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has undertaken a visit to Bauchi to inspect a range of multi-billion naira ongoing projects across the state. The visit comes after the reappointment of officials by President Bola Tinubu a few months ago.
The NEDC delegation, headed by Board Chairman Major General Paul Tarfa (rtd.) and Managing Director/CEO Mohammed Goni Alkali, began their visit by paying a courtesy call to the Emir of Bauchi, Alh. Suleiman Adamu.
Subsequently, the delegation proceeded to various project sites in Dunga, where they inspected 500 units of housing projects and a mega school. Other locations visited included the ongoing construction of the NEDC annex office along Bauchi-Jos road, a medical facility in the Bauchi metropolis, and an ultra-modern cattle market in Soro, Ganjuwa local government area.
During their meeting with the Emir, Board Chairman Tarfa expressed the team’s purpose in Bauchi, stating, “We are impressed with what is happening in Bauchi in terms of our development projects. On behalf of the board of the commission, we are grateful for the opportunity and privilege, and also to present to you what we have done in our first tenure in office which we are presenting to you.”
The Emir acknowledged the Commission’s homage to his Palace and commended their efforts. He further urged the team to collaborate closely with state governments to achieve even greater success in their endeavors.
