The Internal Auditor of Port Harcourt Water Corporation, Dr. Barine Lenee, has tragically lost his life in an appalling act of violence. Aged 41, hailing from Buan Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr. Lenee was allegedly attacked and stabbed multiple times while driving from Uyo, the capital of Akwa-Ibom State, to Port Harcourt on September 30th.
The distressing incident occurred in the Trans-Amadi-slaughter area of the city, where Dr. Lenee’s life was mercilessly taken. His body, along with his vehicle and personal belongings, was discovered dumped by the road on October 1st. Regrettably, his phone was missing.

Dr. Lenee had been a dedicated member of staff and the Head of the Internal Audit Department/Accountant at the Port Harcourt Water Corporation in Rumuola. His untimely demise has left his colleagues and loved ones devastated.
Karasira Clement Livinus, in a Facebook post dated October 3rd, expressed his sorrow and condemnation of the incident, holding the failed security and medical systems responsible for Dr. Lenee’s tragic fate. He called for the replacement of inactive security operatives and criticized businessmen who prioritize financial gain over saving lives. Livinus also highlighted the presence of medical facilities without sufficient doctors, underscoring the failure of the system.
In this time of deep mourning, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Lenee’s family and friends. May justice be served, and may his loved ones find solace and strength in the face of this profound loss.
