German authorities have concluded their investigation into the tragic rape and violent death of a 10-year-old girl in a children’s home in Bavaria, which occurred five months ago.
Police and the public prosecutor’s office have identified an 11-year-old boy, who resided in the same home, as the likely perpetrator responsible for her death.
However, due to his young age, the boy cannot be held legally accountable for his actions.
In addition to this, charges have been filed against a 25-year-old man who allegedly raped the girl, as announced by officials on Tuesday.
The man reportedly broke into the children’s home in early April, where he encountered the girl and committed the heinous act before leaving the premises.
“The accused cannot be definitively linked to the murder of the 10-year-old girl,” stated the police and the public prosecutor’s office.
The investigation indicates that the 11-year-old boy took the girl’s life after the 25-year-old had departed from the home.
There had reportedly been a dispute between the children prior to the incident.
The man had already been in custody since late April due to evidence found at the crime scene.
According to the police, the man has been involved in several other burglaries since the beginning of 2022.
