A tragic incident unfolded in Philadelphia, USA, as a 66-year-old American Airlines flight attendant was found deceased in a hotel room at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott. The discovery was made by cleaning staff on Monday evening, two days after the woman was expected to check out.
Medical professionals were called to the scene and pronounced the flight attendant dead at around 10:40 p.m. No signs of forced entry or a struggle were found, and no weapons were discovered within the room, according to police sources cited by 6ABC.
During their investigation, authorities discovered sealed prescription bottles within the room, indicating that the flight attendant was taking multiple medications. While the exact cause of death has not yet been determined, Chief Inspector Scott Small informed NBC10 that the woman experienced a sudden demise.
As of early Wednesday, September 27, the deceased flight attendant’s identity has not been released to the public, pending the results of the autopsy.
Inspector Small has deemed the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death as suspicious, prompting the involvement of the police department’s Homicide Detectives Division, who are actively investigating the case.
