Gloria Carter, the mother of foremost American rapper, Jay Z married her long-time girlfriend, Roxanne Wilshire in Tribeca, New York City over the weekend.
The event was attended by notable celebrities, with Jay Z leading the way as a proud son.
Jay Z entered the location with his 41-year-old wife Beyoncé by his side, exhibiting their style and glitz. Beyoncé supported herself by holding their 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy while wearing towering heels. The duo looked lovely in their formal clothes, and Beyoncé’s peach ensemble was enhanced by a feather wrap.
The guest list was filled with familiar faces, including Kelly Rowland, Tyler Perry, Robin Roberts, and Corey Gamble. The celebration was indeed a grand one, and according to the American blog, TMZ, the reception, lasted until approximately 1 am.
As the evening came to a close, Gloria and Roxanne departed the party. Gloria was dressed in a white suit, while Roxanne looked radiant in a stunning gold and white shimmery dress.
Jay Z, 53, has been openly supportive of his mother’s sexuality since she came out as gay in his 2017 track “Smile,” featured on his album 4:44. In the song, the Grammy-winning rapper reflects on Gloria’s experience of hiding her identity as a lesbian while raising four kids. He also expresses his joy when Gloria found love and companionship with Roxanne.
