Mavin Records CEO, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has urged Nigerian musicians to take a cue from Afrobeats star, Davido on album promotion.
Don Jazzy advised artistes to emulate Davido’s marketing strategy for his latest album, “Timeless,” which he has been actively promoting on his social media platforms.
Don Jazzy observed that despite being a well-known performer, Davido did not hesitate to promote his record.
He continued by saying that musicians shouldn’t be concerned about losing their street cred or flair if they promote their own ventures.
The advice came after Davido successfully marketed his album “Timelesss,” which features collaborations with other Nigerian artistes. Fans have widely received the album, and have topped several music charts across the world.
Taking to Twitter, Jazzy wrote; “Dear artists hope you can see how Davido is marketing his album. He didn’t form oh I’m OBO so everybody will cop my shit. Marketting your beautiful project that you worked hard on does not reduce your swag.”
