A commercial bus driver and several passengers were recently involved in an auto crash in Lagos, resulting in injuries. The incident occurred when the driver’s unpainted bus collided with a loaded containerised trailer on outer Marina Road.
Thanks to the quick response of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), all individuals were rescued and transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The accident was attributed to over-speeding, leading to a brake failure. Police officers provided necessary security backup during the rescue operation.
The General Manager of LASTMA emphasized the importance of caution, restraint, and adherence to speed limits for commercial bus drivers and the motoring public. In a separate event, top officials from the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority visited LASTMA to learn about effective traffic management practices. The visit aimed to replicate successful operational strategies and data generation methods employed by LASTMA in Oyo State.
