The upcoming Naija SDGs FinTech-AI Hackathon and conference, set to take place on December 5 and 6 in Lagos, Nigeria, promises to unlock a new wave of innovation. The hackathon, themed “From Promise to Cash,” aims to leverage advanced technologies to create local value and directly contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Uchi Uchibeke, the founder of NaijaHacks and AfricaHacks, emphasizes the importance of collaboration between participants and partners in achieving successful hackathons. This is evident in their partnership with the Naija SDGs AI & Fintech Hackathon, which brings together talented individuals to drive positive change.
Bankole Oloruntoba, CEO of the Nigeria Climate Innovation Center, underlines the organization’s commitment to the SDGs and its role in fostering innovation. He states, “Through our various projects, we are dedicated to making a significant contribution to the achievement of the UN SDGs. The Naija SDGs Fintech Hackathon has proven to be a platform that fosters sustainable development through innovation and technology, and this year, we aim to scale its impact.”
Emmanuel Etaderhi, Executive Secretary of FC4S Lagos, highlights the Naija SDGs Fintech Hackathon as a transformative journey. He explains, “Over the past three years, we have nurtured Fintech talents to address the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Now, we aim to redefine the future by introducing an Artificial Intelligence component. Our vision is to create a Fintech ecosystem that not only sustains success but also transforms the financial landscape for a greener and more equitable world.”
The hackathon, open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 35, aims to promote innovation in AI and Fintech solutions that enhance sustainable development. During the hackathon finals, participants will have the opportunity to present their creative solutions to esteemed judges with extensive experience in the sector.
