Nigerian musician Naira Marley has recently stated his willingness to return to Nigeria to cooperate with the ongoing investigation surrounding the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad. However, the Marlian Music boss has made it clear that his return is contingent upon the security agencies being able to guarantee his safety.
During an interview with Reno Omokri, Naira Marley expressed his condition, stating, “If they can guarantee my safety, I will be there.” He acknowledged the presence of individuals who hold animosity towards him and are unwilling to see him return, due to misinformation perpetuated by the media. Therefore, ensuring his safety is of utmost importance before he can fully cooperate with the investigation.

In response to allegations that he played a role in the assault on Mohbad, Naira Marley firmly denied any truth to the claims. He emphasized that even in Mohbad’s own police statement, there was no mention of his involvement. Naira Marley firmly stated, “I do not have any issue whatsoever with him. I have never instructed anybody to touch him. I have never touched him. You will never see a video of me touching him. I have never sent anybody to touch him. That is just lies.”
The musician also shed light on Mohbad’s psychological state, stating that he had offered to support him in undergoing brain scans. However, Mohbad refused to proceed with the scans, expressing that his parents understood his condition better and would provide the necessary treatment. Naira Marley shared,
“I did pay for a lot of scans and he that that is what he wanted to do, get scanned and I paid for a lot of them. Like I said he is a little bit paranoid. I was trying to take it easy, trying to find out what’s wrong because remember, he had already made a video to sif anything happened to him, it’s Naira Marley. So I was just trying to find the best help for him. He did scan. I also spoke about if he can travel out to check properly. Then he said it is his mum and dad that will understand what was wrong and then his mum and dad said they wanted to take him for treatment, they want to take him to go look after him,” he said.
The controversial singer also denied claims that ailing disc jockey, DJ Splash, was signed to his label.

“DJ Splash was never signed to Marlian music. He is a DJ. He has never DJ’d with me on a show. They just gave him a title because I have a picture with him. When whatever happened to him happened to him, he was not at my house.”
