The National Examination Council (NECO) has recently unveiled the highly anticipated results of the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal exams.
During a press briefing held in Minna on Tuesday, October 10, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar of NECO, shared that an impressive 61.6 percent of candidates achieved five credits, including English and Mathematics.
The total number of candidates who registered for the examination was 1,205,888, with 1,196,985 candidates actually sitting for the exams.
Breaking down the figures, Wushishi revealed that out of the candidates, 616,398 were male, while 580,587 were female.
The number of candidates who accomplished a remarkable feat by scoring five credits and above, including English and Mathematics, amounted to 737,308.
Furthermore, a staggering 1,013,611 candidates, representing 84.68 percent, secured five credits regardless of their English and Mathematics scores.
“The number of candidates registered for the examination is 1,205,888, with 621,084 males and 584,804 females,” stated Wushishi.
