In a commendable display of concern for the welfare of a child, a group of neighbours came to the rescue of a 15-year-old boy who was discovered to have been shackled by the leg and confined in a squalid room by his aunt, with whom he resides.
A video capturing the incident quickly gained traction on social media, wherein the aunt voiced her allegations that the boy had ventured out and failed to return home, in addition to accusing him of pilfering her finances. When pressed about their familial relationship, she identified the boy as her older sister’s offspring.
Displaying visible anger, the neighbours expressed their intent to take more aggressive action against the aunt, were it not for her advanced age.
