In a solemn announcement, Lieutenant-General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has declared a three-day mourning period in honor of the late Major-General Chris Alli, former COAS who passed away in Lagos on Sunday.
The Nigerian Army, through its Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Onyema Nwachukwu, has directed all army formations and units to fly their flags at half-mast as a symbol of collective grief and respect during this period. Additionally, all personnel are instructed to wear a black hand band in remembrance of Major-General Chris Alli, a highly dedicated and professional individual who served the nation with unwavering commitment.
