A Nigerian man has turned to social media to share his heartbreaking ordeal, having been duped by a cunning travel agent who guaranteed him a Canadian visa but vanished with a staggering N15 million.
The man’s painstaking efforts and earnestly earned money were cruelly taken away, leaving him devastated and his dreams of moving to Canada shattered.
In a heartrending confession to Grandma Shasha, a renowned TikTok user known for travel content, a Nigerian man recounted his unfortunate experience.
He had made the life-altering decision to start anew in Canada and sought assistance from an agent who boasted expertise in obtaining Canadian visas. Eager to fulfill his dream, the man went to great lengths to raise the exorbitant amount demanded by the fraudulent agent.
Selling his most cherished possessions, including the land inherited from his late father and two vehicles, he managed to gather the requested N15 million to expedite the immigration process. Placing his trust in the agent’s promises, he handed over the substantial sum, hoping for his Canadian dream to materialize.
To his dismay, all the agent provided was a Nigerian international passport before vanishing without a trace. Devastated and desperate, the man attempted to reach the elusive agent through phone calls, but his efforts proved fruitless.
In his words;
“I sold my two cars and my only land inheritance in the village to raise N15 million to give to an agent for a Canadian visa, and all I could get was a passport. And the agent is nowhere to be found.
I have tried tracking him, but nothing. I keep calling, and they said the number is not allocated.”
