In a successful operation conducted on [date], the troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai effectively thwarted multiple Boko Haram insurgents in the North East region of Yobe State.
According to reliable intelligence sources, a vigilant fighting patrol ambushed and eliminated four terrorists in Babangida, situated in the Tarmuwa Local Government area of Yobe State.
Responding promptly to actionable intelligence received at approximately 6:45 pm, the Sector 2 troops swiftly mobilized and moved to the Bajingo general area in Tarmuwa. The objective was to clear the region of terrorist elements, specifically targeting Kurnawa and Bajingo villages.
During the operation in Kurnawa, the troops engaged the terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of four assailants. Additionally, one AK 47 Rifle and 2 motorcycles, along with various other items, were recovered.
Regrettably, two soldiers sustained minor injuries during the firefight; however, they were promptly provided with medical attention and are currently in stable condition.
In a separate incident on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, troops from the 159 Battalion in Geidam conducted a fighting patrol in response to reports of terrorist activities and harassment of civilians in Jororo village, located within the Gaidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Upon arrival, the troops encountered the insurgents, swiftly eliminating two assailants and recovering two AK-47 rifles, as well as two motorcycles and other relevant items.
Furthermore, on October 25, 2023, the troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade successfully thwarted an attempted attack by ISWAP terrorists on Buni Gari in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Despite the attackers’ large numbers and use of motorcycles and guntrucks, the troops skillfully employed superior firepower, forcing the terrorists to retreat back to the forest.
