Victor Osimhen has reportedly expressed his regrets to Napoli’s head coach, Rudi Garcia, following a confrontation on the sidelines during their Sunday match, which ended in a 0-0 draw against Bologna.
Osimhen had a missed opportunity to give Napoli the lead from the penalty spot before he was substituted for Giovanni Simeone in the 86th minute. Clearly frustrated, Osimhen directed his displeasure toward Garcia as he left the field. His gestures seemed to suggest that he believed having two strikers on the field would have been advantageous for Napoli in the final stages of the game.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Osimhen promptly offered his apology in the dressing room right after the final whistle. The following day’s training session provided an opportunity for Osimhen and Garcia to discuss the incident, with no further arguments or complications reported.
Next on the agenda for Osimhen and his Napoli teammates is a home match against Udinese on Wednesday. The Serie A champions are keen to avoid a fourth consecutive winless match in the league.
Osimhen hasn’t scored in his last four games across all competitions for Napoli. Nevertheless, he has managed to score three goals in Serie A this season.
