President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated his commitment to inclusivity by appointing Mohammed Abba Isa as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters. The announcement was made by the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Thursday.
As part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration, President Tinubu aims to ensure that every segment of society is adequately catered to. In recognition of Isa’s distinguished advocacy work for persons with disabilities, President Tinubu has approved his appointment.
Isa brings over a decade of experience in local and international advocacy on disability matters to his new role. His primary responsibility will be to proactively create opportunities for inclusion by incorporating the perspectives and requirements of persons with disabilities (PWD) into the policies and programs of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government.
Working in close collaboration with sub-national authorities and the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), Isa will strive to build a national consensus on PWD-friendly policies and environmental conditions.
Mohammed Abba Isa is a graduate with honors in public administration from the University of Maiduguri. He furthered his education at the same institution, obtaining a Masters in public administration in 2017.
By appointing Mohammed Abba Isa as the Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters, President Tinubu showcases his commitment to fostering inclusivity and ensuring that the needs and perspectives of persons with disabilities are efficiently represented in government policies and programs.
