President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has, on Friday, formally announced the appointment of Mr. Shaakaa Chira as the Auditor-General of the Federation (AGF). This decision was made in accordance with the recommendation of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), as stated by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
In accordance with the powers vested in him by Section 86 of the 1999 Constitution (Amended), President Tinubu has approved Mr. Shaakaa Chira as the substantive Auditor-General of the Federation. This decision comes after a thorough screening exercise conducted by the FCSC, which identified Chira as the most qualified candidate and the highest scorer in the examination among all qualified candidates for the position.
President Tinubu expects Mr. Chira to fulfill his duties with utmost professionalism and to justify the confidence placed in him. Additionally, he has urged the new Auditor-General to meet the high expectations of Nigerians regarding the successful execution of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
