Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman recently conveyed his pledge to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, assuring him that Saudi Arabia will steadfastly support the Palestinians in the midst of the ongoing conflict between Hamas terrorists and Israel.
During their discussion, Bin Salman, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment, stated that the kingdom will continue to stand by the Palestinian people, advocating for their legitimate rights to a dignified existence, pursuing their aspirations, and ultimately achieving a just and enduring peace.
Despite being political rivals, Abbas, who leads the Fatah movement governing the West Bank, and Bin Salman discussed the prince’s efforts in collaboration with international parties to prevent any further escalation of the conflict.
Revealing recent revelations, Western officials have disclosed that Tehran has supplied Hamas terrorists with military training, logistical assistance, and considerable financial resources for weapons ahead of the surprise attack. The Washington Post reports that Hamas had been planning this assault on Israel for at least a year.
While there is no evidence of Tehran granting authorization or directly coordinating the attack, the incursion aligns with Iran’s long-standing ambition to surround Israel with paramilitary fighters equipped with advanced weaponry.
A Western intelligence official offered insight, stating, ‘If you train people on how to use weapons, you expect them to eventually use them,’ highlighting the potential consequences of such support.
Tragically, the conflict has already claimed the lives of at least 900 Israelis since the commencement of the surprise attack on Saturday. In response, Israel has launched the most intense series of airstrikes in its 75-year history, targeting the Gaza Strip and resulting in the death of 770 Palestinians, with 4,000 others sustaining injuries
