In a heartfelt tribute, former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and other prominent figures expressed their condolences for the late Alhaji Suleiman Adebodun Onabiyi, a former commissioner under Amosun’s administration. Onabiyi passed away on Sunday, October 22, leaving behind a legacy of grassroots politics and philanthropy that extended beyond his community.
Throughout his career, Onabiyi held various positions of leadership, including Chairman of Ifo Local Council, Commissioner for Agriculture, Chairman of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), and Chairman of the Elders Council of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State. These roles showcased his dedication to public service and his commitment to improving the lives of others.
To commemorate his life and contributions, a biography titled ‘Prince of the Grassroots’ was written in honor of Chief Suleiman Onabiyi, recognizing his significant impact on society. Senator Amosun, in a press statement, described Onabiyi as a selfless leader who deeply cared for the welfare of the people.
