A disturbing video capturing the moment convicted officer, Drambi Vandi, was escorted from the courtroom after receiving a death sentence by hanging for the ruthless murder of Lagos lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, has recently surfaced online.
Justice Ibironke Harrison, presiding over the Lagos State High Court at the Tafawa Balewa Square annex in Igbosere, Lagos Island, delivered the verdict on October 9th. Vandi was found guilty of fatally shooting Raheem on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2023, while she and her husband were driving.
In her ruling, Justice Harrison affirmed that the prosecution, led by the Lagos State Government, indisputably established Vandi’s culpability beyond reasonable doubt.
“The court has found the defendant guilty of a single count of murder. The sentence is to be carried out by hanging until death,” pronounced the judge.
