The Nigerian Airforce component of Operation Hadin Kai executed a series of airstrikes on October 26, 2023, targeting the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorist groups in Tudun Baranga and Jubilaram, both situated near the fringes of Lake Chad in Borno State. These strategic strikes, conducted following thorough intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, were aimed at locations where the presence of the terrorists was confirmed.
According to reliable intelligence sources, ISWAP militants at Tudun Baranga were observed attempting to seek shelter under shrubs upon spotting the fighter jet. The engagement led to the elimination of several terrorists, the destruction of structures, and the discovery of concealed logistics beneath the shrubs. The targets were subsequently engulfed in flames.
In the aftermath of the airstrike, surviving terrorists sought refuge under nearby trees before ultimately fleeing the area, causing pandemonium. Likewise, in Jubilaram, combat aircrafts targeted ISWAP fighters traveling via canoes, resulting in the destruction of the vessels and the elimination of the terrorists within.
These airstrikes have dealt a significant blow to the ISWAP fighters and underscore the effectiveness of Operation Hadin Kai’s efforts in combating terrorism. The successful execution of these operations highlights the importance of intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance in identifying and neutralizing terrorist threats.
