The Lagos State government has announced the temporary closure of a section of the Eko Bridge, specifically from Costain to Alaka descent. This closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, until 4 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023. The closure is necessary to prevent further vandalism, theft of the expansion joint, and to ensure the replacement of missing parts and recasting of the transition concrete around the expansion joint.
Motorists who usually utilize this section of the bridge are advised to divert through the Costain Ramp, connecting to Alaka via the Costain Roundabout. The government assures that the bridge will be reopened as scheduled. During this period, sufficient traffic and security personnel will be deployed to the construction zones and alternative routes. Motorists are kindly requested to cooperate with these personnel, exercise patience, and adhere to all safety measures.
