In a tragic incident, terrorists targeted Muslim worshipers at a mosque in Kaduna, resulting in the death of two individuals and causing severe injuries to others.
The attack occurred early on Tuesday when the terrorists ambushed the worshipers inside the mosque located in Sabon Layi, Kakangi Ward, Birnin-Gwari local government, Kaduna State.
The assailants stormed the Ga Allah Babba area of Sabon Layi agrarian community and opened fire on the mosque, claiming the lives of the mosque’s Imam, Malam Mamuda, and another individual named Kabiru from Unguwar GA ALLAH BABBA. Bilya Mairabo and Ashiru Mairabo were also critically injured and are currently receiving medical treatment at Jibrin Maigwari General Hospital, Birnin-Gwari.
Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari, Chairman of the Birnin Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance, strongly condemned the attack, highlighting the alarming frequency at which terrorists operate in the entire Birnin-Gwari local government area, targeting and abducting innocent citizens.
He further expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation along the Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna highway, which continues to be a nightmare for travelers due to the terrorists’ ability to break through security escorts provided by personnel.
