The Lagos State gubernatorial election petition tribunal, in a unanimous decision, has confirmed Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the legitimately elected governor in the March 18th election.

Justice Mikhail Abdullahi, who presented the leading judgment, determined that Olajide Adediran’s petition from the PDP was devoid of merit and essentially had no grounds to stand on. He further stated that the petitioner failed to meet the burden of proof required by the electoral act.
Currently, the tribunal is taking a five-minute break and will soon reconvene to issue a verdict on the petition brought by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party.
