In a heartbreaking incident, a two-year-old baby tragically lost his life after falling from a school building in Aba, Abia State. The unfortunate incident occurred at Emerald International School, a private institution that houses pre-nursery, nursery, primary, and secondary sections within the same compound.
The young child, identified as David Etim Udo, fell from the third floor of the three-story building, resulting in severe head and body injuries. Immediate medical attention was sought, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Regrettably, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, David succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Abia State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident, sharing the details of the heartbreaking news brought forward by David’s father, Mr. Jacob Etim Udo. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough and discreet inquiry to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident. As part of the investigation, the child’s body has been recovered and will undergo an autopsy.
