A devastating incident unfolded on Tuesday in the Ago, Okota area of Lagos, as a vehicle being pursued by a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official collided with a tricycle, resulting in the tragic deaths of a pregnant woman, her two children, and the tricycle driver.
According to eyewitnesses, the heart-wrenching event occurred when one of the LASTMA officials at Okota Roundabout engaged in a struggle for control of a Toyota Sienna vehicle with its driver, aiming to apprehend him for traffic rule violations. Subsequently, the vehicle lost control and collided with a tricycle on Bayo Oyewale Street.
The pregnant woman was on her way to school with her children when the unfortunate accident occurred.
In the aftermath of the incident, a protest erupted, and an angry mob targeted the LASTMA official involved.
