The National and House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, convened in Lafia, has upheld the election of Mohammed Omadefu (APC-Keana) as a member of the Nasarawa House of Assembly. Led by Justice Francisca Isong-Nnang, the three-member panel dismissed the petition filed by Basil Osheka and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Justice Isong-Nnang stated that the petitioners were unable to provide sufficient evidence to warrant a re-run of the election in the five polling units of Agaza ward within the constituency.
Responding to the verdict, Mr. Omadefu, who already serves as the majority leader of the house, extended an olive branch to Mr. Osheka and his supporters, urging collaboration in the development of Keana constituency. “I implore my opponent and his supporters from the election to join forces with me in advancing the interests of Keana constituency,” he affirmed.
Expressing gratitude to God and his constituents for his triumph, the majority leader acknowledged the significance of their support in his victory.
