In a bid to make a triumphant return to the top flight of Nigerian football, Warri Wolves FC is embarking on a promotion campaign after spending two seasons in the lower league. Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, faced the challenge of Warri Wolves’ inconsistency during his tenure, with the team experiencing relegation on two occasions, most recently in the 2019/2020 Season.
The team’s management, led by Moses Etu, was replaced earlier this year by Neville Ambekederemo to prepare for the upcoming 2023/2024 season. Despite some financial difficulties faced by the players, Ambekederemo assured that the state government is fully committed to securing Warri Wolves’ promotion this season.
The team’s first match is scheduled for November 19 against International Lagos FC at Kwale Stadium, as renovations are underway at Warri Township Stadium. With a series of important fixtures ahead, including matches against Osun United, Ikorodu City FC, Giant Brillars FC, and FC One Rocket, Warri Wolves is determined to achieve their collective goal through dedication, focus, and discipline.
