“You can’t ask those who looted food to return their loot” – Reno Omokri says
Nigerian lawyer and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has stated reasons why government should not ask people who looted food items to return them.
Omokri reacting to the ultimatum given to looters by state governors, took to his Twitter page on Monday, October 26th to opine that before governors would give orders for the people to return the looted items, government officials who looted government coffers should also be requested to do same.
In his words,
“You can’t ask those who looted food to return their loot, while not asking the same of those who looted government coffers, and made the masses so poor, to the extent that they have to loot palliatives, that should have been distributed to them in the first place. #EndSARS”
Recall that Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola gave looters 72 hours ultimatum to return all looted properties to designated authorities.
The Governor instructed looters to return all looted items within 72 hours to security agencies, traditional rulers, local government chairmen or community leaders close to them.
He stated that if the suspected hoodlums fail to return all stolen items, they would be tracked and brought to justice. while those who heeds to the warning and returns it before deadline would be forgiven.
