The radio personality revealed in an interview with content producer Timi Agbaje that her outfit cost $100,000, or roughly 140 million Naira.
Agbaje asked, “Last year you wore a $20,000-outfit to the AMVCA. How much did this outfit cost?”
Tacha replied, “It’s $100,000 or nothing, bro.”

The interview with BBNaija star Natacha “Tacha” Akide, a Nigerian skitmaker and content producer, Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, popularly known as Isbae U, in a post a few hours earlier caught the attention of online users. Isbae U made fun of Tacha and one of the scandals that have surrounded her since her stint on the BBNaija program in a clip from the show that went viral online.
Years after singer Zlatan Ibile wrote a song about the reality show star’s body odor, Bae U said on his show that she needs a perfume.
The person who created the viral video said that Tacha is so well-known that she does not really require an introduction—rather, she just needs a perfume.
Tacha’s reaction to IsBae U’s comment trended after the video went viral, with many knocking the host for being disrespectful.
But Tacha’s extravagant fashion expenditures have also generated discussion and controversy in other places. In a nation where poverty and inequality are widespread problems, displaying such enormous riches can be interpreted as callous and disconnected from the struggles that ordinary Nigerians confront. Critics contend that rather than engaging in ostentatious consumerism, celebrities should utilize their positions to promote significant change and the common good.
However, supporters of Tacha’s style decisions contend that she has the right to spend her hard-earned money anyway she pleases. She has put in a great deal of effort as a prosperous media personality and businesswoman to develop her brand and a devoted following. Investing in luxury apparel is part of Tacha’s strategy to maintain a solid public image, which is crucial for career longevity in the highly competitive entertainment sector.
Tacha’s AMVCA ensemble represents the nuanced interplay between riches, style, and celebrity culture. Some could consider it a frivolous luxury, but others might see it as a brazen way to express oneself and show confidence. One thing is certain despite the ongoing debate: Tacha has had a lasting impact on pop culture and fashion, far beyond the realm of reality television. You cannot ignore her, whether you love her or detest her.
